Peer Review

Presentation of Peer Review in QUALES network in Lisbon

On September 12th 2014 Revalento has been invited by QUALES to do a presentation on the use of Peer Review in Continuous Vocational Education. In Lisbon representatives of the training Institutes for the Financial sector from different European Countries were meeting to present good practices on quality assurance for the Financial sector. A vision on QA for training standards for bankers was presented which focusses on:

  • Learning outcomes: knowledge, skills and competences as defined in EQF (European Qualifications Framework);
  • Division in learning units to make transfer of points possible as defined in ECVET (European Credit system for Vocational Education and Training);
  • Quality Assurance mechanism as defined in EQAVET (European Quality Assurance in Vocational Education and Training);
  • Formal independent assessments as a natural obligation to obtain any qualification;
  • Recognition of prior learning;
  • Continuous Professional Development (CPD) as a requirement to make lifelong learning an integral part of education and training.

Revalento presented the Peer Review methodology in combination with the use another tool: a self-assessment tool which supports EQAVET, the CQAF VET model. The contribution was considered very appropriate and useful. In the second part of the meeting participants explored future options for sharing expertise and to combine their experiences.
